Green Oaks Primary Academy

Online Safety

We take online safety seriously, to ensure the safety of young people around us.  To support this we have developed our Online Safety Policy which takes into account the specific online safety sections of Keeping Children Safe in Education 2022 framework.

At Green Oaks Primary Academy we ensure that we regularly teach all of our pupils how to become a digitally responsible citizen of the modern world. In addition to delivering engaging lessons and assemblies around the Education for a Connected World Framework and national days such as Safer Internet Day, we have joined National Online Safety, to provide all staff with up to date and relevant training and to give our parents support in dealing with online issues at home. Our parents have free access to the National Online Safety app (available on Google Play and the app store to download) which provides quick guides, tips and courses so they can keep their children safe at home too and become more knowledgeable about what the latest trends are and what youngsters are accessing.

We regularly share guides and posters on our social media to encourage online safety and awareness in the community, as we believe it is our duty as a key part of our community to support wherever possible. We are proud to be an accredited Online Safety school and continue to engage, including taking part in interviews and podcasts about the importance of online safety and how it is developed and embedded here at Green Oaks to help spread the message.
